"To have sung this music with a virtuoso orchestra and in youth must be one of the decisive events in a lifetime. A man would be one person before it; he would be another ever afterward. For no one need tell him that a world of the creative spirit exists. He has lived in it. He knows."
--Lucien Price, Amphion's Lyre

About Us

Founded in 1858, the Harvard Glee Club is the oldest college choir in America, considered by many to be the premier collegiate men's chorus of the country. This year we are celebrating our 150th anniversary with a huge-scale spring and summer tour of the American east and west coasts, culminating in a performance at the Ravinia festival in Chicago. Harvard Glee Club also features a smaller subset ensemble, HGC Lite, which performs lighter a cappella works.

If you are interested in choral singing, you will surely be interested in the Harvard Glee Club. This year marks a special occasion for us--our 150th anniversary!

In celebration, we are preparing a nationwide spring and summer tour featuring:

  1. An Eastern Seaboard tour in March of major cities from New York City, to Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington D.C.
  2. A trip to the West Coast with concerts in venues from Seattle to San Francisco and Los Angeles following Commencement Ceremonies in June.
  3. Following the West Coast leg of the summer tour, stops and concerts in Midwest cities Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Kansas City.
  4. A tour-ending concert in the Martin Theatre for the Ravinia Music Festival outside of Chicago.
Harvard Glee Club looks forward to this unique opportunity to celebrate a rich choral tradition by visiting and exploring cities and alumni across the country under the baton of Jameson Marvin.
